Although many significant results around the country occurred at state championship meets, one of the most notable outcomes took place Oct. 28 at the Suburban Council Championships in New York.

Bethlehem Central had five scorers finish in the top 10, along with a sixth athlete placing 11th, to prevail by a 37-50 margin against Saratoga Springs at Saratoga Park.

Emily Bush and Anya Belisle took the top two spots for Saratoga Springs, but Bethlehem Central’s Charlotte O’Meara, Katherine Bannigan, Logan Kuhn, Anna Chrapowitzky. Liv Pachter and Tess McNamara all finished in front of 14th-place finisher Reagan Owen, the No. 3 scorer for the Blue Streaks.

Alycia Hart hasn’t raced in more than a month for Saratoga Springs, but the Blue Streaks had the rest of their lineup competing against Bethlehem Central.

It marked the first time since Sept. 16 at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Invitational that the teams competed at the same event.

Although they won their respective races in Verona, Saratoga Springs triumphed by a 68-108 margin against Bethlehem Central with Hart in the lineup in a merge of all four varsity sections.

Saratoga Springs, which entered the season unbeaten in varsity invitationals and postseason competition since 2019, has lost twice this fall including a 32-45 setback Sept. 23 against Union Catholic of New Jersey at the Ocean State Invitational in Rhode Island.

The teams are expected to compete again Nov. 4 at the Section 2 Championships at Queensbury High, with the Class A state final scheduled for Nov. 11 at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill course.

The Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet showcased the top two programs in the country Oct. 28, with Air Academy producing the fastest all-time team performance at Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.

Air Academy prevailed by a 26-120 margin against Fossil Ridge in the Class 5A championship.

Niwot produced a 20-150 victory against Cheyenne Mountain in the Class 4A final.

Air Academy held a 42-59 advantage against Niwot in a merge of all four state championship races, with Fossil Ridge taking third at 202.5 points.

Lone Peak secured a 19-48 triumph against American Fork in the Class 6A final Oct. 24 at the Utah High School Activities Association state championship meet at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City.

The Knights boasted a 38.5-95 advantage against American Fork in a merge of all five varsity finals, with Class 5A champion Timpview taking third at 223 points.

All the elite Colorado and Utah programs are preparing to compete Nov. 18 at the Nike Southwest Regional at Coyote Run Golf Course at Leisure World in Arizona.

Timberline triumphed against Boise Senior by a 71-83 margin in the Idaho Class 5A final in Pocatello, with Rocky Mountain taking third at 85 points. The teams are expected to square off Nov. 11 at the Nike Northwest Regional at Eagle Island State Park in Boise against the top programs from Oregon and Washington, which are competing Nov. 4 in their respective state championship meets.

Mount Tabor earned a 42-66 victory against five-time reigning state champion Cuthbertson – competing without last year’s winner Stella Kermes – in the Class 4A Midwest Regional at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, creating a three-team battle along with Cardinal Gibbons for the title Nov. 4 at the same venue.

Olathe West won the Kansas Class 6A crown, Johnston secured the Iowa Class 4A championship, with Brandon Valley and Sioux Falls Christian both winning titles in South Dakota in building momentum toward the Nov. 12 Nike Heartland Regional, leaving Wayzata High to pursue a Class AAA repeat Nov. 4 at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minnesota, the same venue where the Trojans triumphed Sept. 22 at the Roy Griak Invitational.

Homestead prevailed by a 108-115 margin Oct. 28 against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran in the Indiana state final at the LaVern Gibson course in Terre Haute to secure an important victory ahead of the Nike Midwest Regional on Nov. 12 at the same venue, with Illinois Class 3A powers York, Downers Grove North, Prospect and Barrington all scheduled to race Nov. 4 at the state final at Detweiller Park, before shifting focus to competing again in Indiana.
